Yeetlist Privacy Policy
Yeetlist is an iMessage app for shared checklists, made by Drop Pod Studios LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Yeetlist app (including its iMessage extension) and the Yeetlist website.
The short version: Yeetlist doesn't collect any data.
- No account and no sign-in.
- No ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- No third-party SDKs: no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising code. Yeetlist is built only with Apple's own frameworks.
- No servers of our own. Your lists travel inside your iMessages and stay on your devices. We never receive them.
What Yeetlist stores, and where
Inside your messages
When you send or update a list, Yeetlist packs the list into the iMessage message itself. That includes the list's title, its items, each item's state (open, done, not available or unsure), when things were last changed, and random IDs that Yeetlist uses to tell lists and items apart. It also includes the anonymous participant identifier that Messages provides to iMessage apps for whoever made the most recent change, so edits from different people can be told apart. That identifier is a random code generated by Messages. It isn't your name, phone number, email address or Apple Account, and we can't use it to find out who you are.
Apple's iMessage service delivers the message to the people in the conversation, end-to-end encrypted, like any other iMessage. The message is then kept in the conversation like any other message, including in iCloud if you use Messages in iCloud. We are not part of your conversations and cannot read them.
On your device
Yeetlist keeps a small local store on your iPhone or iPad: your recent lists (so you can reopen them from the app drawer), which conversations each list belongs to (recorded using the anonymous participant identifiers from Messages, not names or numbers), your list templates, your settings and whether you have Yeetlist Pro. This store is shared only between the Yeetlist app and its iMessage extension on the same device. It isn't synced through iCloud, and Yeetlist doesn't send it anywhere. Like other app data, it may be included in your device backups. Deleting Yeetlist deletes this store.
Clipboard
Yeetlist only reads text that you choose to paste with the Paste button, and only writes to the clipboard when you tap "Copy as Text".
In-app purchase
Yeetlist Pro is an optional one-time purchase. Apple handles the purchase through the App Store, and we never receive your payment details or Apple Account information. The app asks Apple, on your device, whether you own Pro. Lists you send while you have Pro carry a simple "Pro" flag so the people you share them with can edit them too.
What we don't do
- We don't collect, store, sell or share personal information. We have no server to send it to.
- We don't track you across apps or websites, and Yeetlist contains no ads, analytics or third-party SDKs.
- Yeetlist doesn't ask for access to your contacts, location, photos, camera, microphone or any other permission-protected data.
One thing outside our control, for completeness: if you've turned on Share With App Developers in your iPhone or iPad settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage statistics with us, as it does for every app. Apple controls this, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings.
The web viewer
When someone opens a Yeetlist bubble on a device that doesn't have the app (for example, a Mac), it opens a web page at droppodstudios.dev that shows the list read-only. [CONFIRM: the current app code still links to the old address codexoperator.github.io/yeetlist/; ship an update that uses droppodstudios.dev before this page is final]
- The list is stored in the link itself. Opening the link sends the full link, including the encoded list and the anonymous participant identifier described above, to our web host, Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare may process request data (for example the requested URL, IP address and browser details) to deliver and secure the site, under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. We haven't turned on Cloudflare Web Analytics, request logging or log exports for this site. Cloudflare's dashboard shows us only the aggregate traffic statistics it produces for every site (such as total visits), and we don't use them to identify anyone.
- The list is decoded entirely in your browser. The page has no analytics, cookies or third-party scripts.
- Opening a list in the Yeetlist app itself doesn't contact the website. The app only opens this website if you tap its Support or Privacy Policy links.
The rest of this website (the home, support and privacy pages) also uses no analytics, cookies or third-party scripts. The same Cloudflare hosting note applies.
Children
Yeetlist is suitable for all ages. Its App Store age rating is 4+. Because we don't collect personal information from anyone, we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live).
Your choices
- Remove a list from a conversation: delete the message or the conversation in Messages. This removes it from your devices, not from other people's devices.
- Remove a saved list from a device: in Yeetlist, swipe left on the list and tap Remove, or choose "Remove List from This Device" from the list's ⋯ menu.
- Remove everything Yeetlist stored on a device: delete the Yeetlist app from that device.
- Access, correction or deletion requests: because we don't hold any of your data, there's nothing for us to access, export or delete, but you're always welcome to contact us with questions.
We don't sell or share personal information, as defined by laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. If a future version of Yeetlist ever changes how data is handled, we'll update this policy before that version is released.
